I hope that everyone has a safe and wonderful Memorial Day. I am remembering my father who fought in WWII and was a POW in Germany. I pray that some day mankind will find it unnecessary to go to war--that they will live at a higher level of consciousness and co-exist peacefully with everyone, regardless of race or religion or political views.

Frank, I once took part in Sufi dancing and it was such a joyous experience. And yes, it is a shame that people confuse Sufism with Muslim extremists. Aloha! Carla

Hello, Carla, Did you see my post on LYR re: Sufi Dancing? I think you mentioned you wanted to look into it. I hope you find a group to dance with. Dance is a way of soul expressing itself. Sufi dancing is dance theater; by chanting and mudras (positioning the body, hands and of course the mind) dancers are assuming attitudes of worship, incorporating God, in this case Allah, in themselves, Selves. Some of the attitudes: openness, lovingness, sharing, gratefulness, compassion, strength, etc. The more you are a talented, sincere actor and worshiper, the more godly you are and become. By the end of a dance session, chanting and whirling, I have been truly transported, transcended. spaced--feel godly, even in NYC! You should not confound Sufism with "Muslim" extremists. Sufism is Muslim mysticism, promulgating peace, widom, beauty, spirit. Blessings, Aloha, |
